100 Years of Cricket - KCC Centenary 1904-2004
THE centenary celebrations are finally over. The British Army and the KCC Masters have been and gone; the Ladies blitzed the opposition; and KCC shared the spoils in the Centenary Interport played early in the year. To see what happened, check out the following highlights.
Centenary Masters: 22-28 November 2004
SOME famous cricketers were seen recently at KCC, including Sri Lankans Hashan Tilakaratne and Rumesh Ratnayake and Indian stars Nikhil Chopra and Pravin Amre, who recently competed in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes. They were competing in the KCC Centenary Masters.
British Army Cricket Tour: 5-18 October 2004
THEY came. They saw. We shared the spoils! The Royal Logisitc Corps CC have now departed our shores after a successful and very enjoyable tour to Hong Kong. Their on-field record finished at played 6, won 4, lost 2. Check out the British Army Tour page for a full run down of the tour.

KCC Maidens On Top: 12 September 2004
THE KCC Maidens team scored a convincing victory over their HKCC counterparts in a special Centenary Match played at KCC on 12th September. KCC Captain Julie Atkinson led her charges to a nine-wicket victory with 8 overs to spare, and she scored the winning runs to boot! Brightest stars for KCC were Kim Lamsam who struck an udefeated 50 (retired) and Neisha Pratt who smote a quick 21 not out to hurry the victory along. KCC CENTENARY INTERPORT: 19-21 March 2004
ONE of the first events for the Centenary Year was the KCC Centerary Interport between teams from KCC, Singapore CC and Royal Bangkok Sports Club. SCC won the tournament after scoring victories over KCC and RBSC, whilst KCC had to settle for a victory over RBSC. All matches were played in excellent spirit, showing that Interport cricket deserves a regular place in our cricket calendar. Check out the tournament review or click here to see the photographs. |
